Microsoft teams update is automated (usually takes place on a Tuesday unless a critical update is required), as per Microsoft documentation but its not the real time. you may see the couple of users running same version of OS, teams client and patch, siting in same speed of bandwidth may receive updates in different time. I have experienced this GAP of features update in my teams client and getting it by manually hitting the option “Update Microsoft Teams” in Teams desktop client. Similarly, We can force this update in iOS and android by reinstalling the app.
I do recommend end-users to manually hit on “Update Microsoft Teams” time to time to be up-to-date with latest features release by Microsoft for GA and approved in your tenant.
Update the Teams desktop client
Manually updating Microsoft Teams desktop clients is very simple, you just need to go in top right corner in the app and click into your profile picture, and hit on the update option (Check for update). The update is silent and would happen in background.
Update the Teams Client in iOS
I don’t see any way in teams mobile app to manually update the Teams client, The only option is to re-install the app and install it back. You have another easy way to update it via search the app in store (iOS, android) , you will find the option to update the apps if client is already installed in your mobile device.
I hope these tips will help you to keep your Teams client up-to-dated.
