Trying to get my hand dirty with creating a flow, and just created one which is very simple, sweet and wanted to share. In my workplace, I am responsible for Managing the Office 365 Program and translate the business requirement into technical specification and assign task to my colleagues.
Generally, I do get requirements via emails from my IT management and I FLAG them for review and assign to someone in team later on. So I thought, to use the Power automate (flow), to create a planner task for emails flagged in my Office 365 outlook.
Basically, I used two connector, one is Microsoft 365 outlook and another is planner apps. Let’s see how to do it step by step.
Login to your office.com tenant using your work account and open the “Power Automate”.

Click to “+ Create” in left pane of the flow portal and select “automated flow” template which will trigger the flow by a designated event. Then select “When an email Flagged (V3)” and create it.

Now select “Planner” apps and click on “create a task” from action menu. You need to provide the details for Group Id, Plane Id, Title and Bucket Id.

- Group Id – A Microsoft Teams name (which contain planner as a TABS)
- Plan Id – Name of planner tabs
- Title – Select the email property, you want to see in planner task
- Bucket Id – Name of bucket to which this task will be assigned
I would like to assign this task to the relevant team members instead of me. I need to work on it later on and improve the flow.
Your final flow should looks like below and will create a task in planner app in designated Teams planner TAB.

Power Automate is a service that helps you create automated workflows between your favorite apps and services to synchronize files, get notifications, collect data, and more. Its never late to start it from today.
Very Very Nice, well written ! already sent it to Michael to use this 😉
